Wedding Idea: The Home Wedding
Filed in archive General Planning , Real Weddings , Wedding Budget by Del on November 12, 2008
You don't have to get married in a church, chapel, beach locale, exotic island, City Hall or Las Vegas if you don't want to. You can get married one place where you're comfortable and are surrounded by all the mementos you've grown up with and cherished: your childhood home. Even if you don't want to get married at Mom and Dad's, you might choose the home of another relative or close friend.

Not only do you often save money by having a home wedding, but you also get a more intimate feel to the occasion. If you don't have an extremely large party (unless the "home" you're getting married in is a mansion), a house is the perfect cozy setting.

Home weddings can be personal and affordable, but they do require work, so make sure you have a strong support base and plenty of organized hands (you'll need it). Still, the new memories you create getting married at home will linger for a lifetime every time someone looks at the back garden or sits in front of the fireplace where a bride and groom said their "I do's."
