Wedding Cut Backs
Filed in archive Wedding Budget on October 29, 2008
This isn't the first time I've talked about saving money on wedding costs. And until our economy improves, it won't be the last.
Wedding cut backs are nothing new, especially to couples who are already frugal or don't have a lot of money to spend, but nowadays, more couples than ever are having to watch every dollar when it comes to wedding planning.

This doesn't mean your big day has to be any less meaningful. I believe that if you feel very strongly about one aspect of your wedding, you should stick to your guns if possible-but this may mean letting something else go.
From the article, this important reminder:
"But Stu Freeman, publisher of Long Island Bride and Groom magazine says there is a danger in cutting back too much. He says you can't have a do over, the wedding is usually a one shot deal."How has the current economy impacted your planning, if at all?

I think weddings aren't really a "one shot deal." People renew their vows all the time, never mind the huge divorce rate that leads to more weddings. That kind of thinking also leads to bridezilla behavior, which no one likes, I'm sure.

Oh please, One shot deal. That sound like the threat I get when I go to buy a car and the saleman has to go to his manager. Weeding planning has to be done smartly and within budget. Why let others send you over budget. My fiancee and I refuse to be manipulated into playing that game. We're in it for the long run.

Steve your right on. You guys have your head in the right game. The ecomony sucks right now, that's a fact. Why waste the big bucks on a single day. You can still have a great wedding (hall, band, florist, etc.) and money left over to live on too. I hope I have a job next year. I don't need a bill for my wedding that I can't pay. (6 month countdown to the big day for me.) Loved the typos too :) j/k
