What sort of cakes can guests expect to see this year at wedding receptions? And what kind of cakes are you looking to serve? If you want to keep up with the latest wedding cake trends, check out the slideshow featured at yumsugar.
One hot trend is non-round layers, as pictured.
Other trends to consider:
*Black and white with hot accents
*Bold, bright colors
*Chocolate (my favorite!)
*ice cream cakes

*No flowers, but ribbons, jewels and bows instead

Of course, you don't have to follow any trends if traditional is more your style, but if you're interested in shaking things up a little or saving money by going for a small ice cream cake instead a multi-tiered confection, keep these ideas in mind.
