Wedding Cake? No, Wedding Cupcakes
Filed in archive Something Different , Trends , Wedding Cake by Del on May 24, 2008
I have yet to attend a wedding where cupcakes take the place of the traditional wedding cake, but I certainly would like to. Don't get me wrong; wedding cakes are often works of art. Plus, they've been around forever. But if you're looking for the new thing to do, you can't go wrong with wedding cupcakes.

They're small and dainty and can be decorated in an endless number of ways. Unlike a cake, where the entire creation has to have the same sense of style all over to keep it uniform and pretty, you can unleash different forms of creativity when you're dealing with individual units. You can have a variety of flavors and incorporate as many colors as you'd like.

Of course, you can always present a more uniform look, as with the cupcakes pictured here. They're simply designed in one tone of purple, but the placement of the white flowers is what sets this dessert apart. While many couples who take part in the cupcake trend also have the option to have a separate, smaller cake, the good thing about wedding cupcakes is that you don't have to wait for them to be sliced. Just grab one and eat. Yum!
