Square tables for reception seating are a very popular choice for this year and have made a number of 2007 Trends Lists and for good reason. Square tables offer a fresh look from the regular rectangle and round options, they are easier to layout and decorate then round tables, but they allow for better conversation then rectangular tables.

Many rental companies are starting to offer square tables as an option though I have yet to find any local ones that will. One option would be to combine 2 - 6 person rectangular tables (6' long) to create a square that SEATS 10 as shown above. The one problem you then face is that centerpieces end up sitting on the gap in between tables and if the tables shift, there go your centerpieces. You would need to find a way to secure the two tables together so that they can't pull apart but that bit of extra work might well be worth it for the end result.
