Something Old...

Something old,
Something new,
Something borrowed,
Something blue.

Just about every bride is familiar with that old saying and many of you try to incorporate it into your big day. This week, I'll present some ideas for each of the items you may want to have with you as you take that important walk down the aisle.

One of the first things I think of when I think of the "something old" part of the poem is jewelry.

Jewelry can last for an incredibly long time. It can be handed down for generations. When you receive a piece of jewelry that belonged to a beloved grandmother, it has a special meaning and sentiment attached to it. If you're fortunate enough to get jewelry, from your mother, grandmother or other cherished relative, consider yourself fortunate.

If you want to go a little vintage and you don't have any jewelry from anyone special, you can still buy old/older pieces from places like Michelle's Vintage Jewelry. It might not have the same nostalgia attached to it, but if you're determined to have something old (and unique!), checking out vintage or antique shops is one way to ensure that.
