A trend that is quickly making its way back into the mainstream is the reception dress. Instead of bustling a large gown for dancing, brides are opting for a second dress all together. Celebrities from Jessica Simpson to Avril Lavigne have been following this trend, sporting stunning gowns for their ceremony and sexy, trimmed down reception gowns for the festivities that follow. There are a number of different options you can look into when picking a reception dress - take a look at a few that we found.
1. Tea Length Wedding Gowns - The main benefit of a tea length gown is the full skirt that gives that same traditional wedding look without having to carry around a heavy skirt and train all evening long. The ones shown here are:Serena by Nadine Sheree, Petunia by Melissa Sweet and Alice by Monique Lhuillier.

2. Destination Wedding Gowns - Destination wedding gowns are designed to be light, easy to carry around and are generally perfect for a reception gown for that very reason. Some examples include Asia from Chrys Cross Bridal, Style 1001 by Dessy and Style 24142 By Mon Cheri Destinations.

3. bridesmaid Gowns - Bridesmaid gowns are also a great option for a reception gown. In fact - a white version of your bridesmaid gowns may be just perfect! Or perhaps, if your girls are in tea length gown, you may want to pick a floor length in a similar style. Some examples of bridesmaids gowns that would be suitable include Style #5727 by Jim Hjelm.

4. Off The Rack Dresses - Another great place to find suitable gowns in at the mall or other small local boutiques! They often have gowns that are suitable for a reception gown, especially during the spring and summer season. Many stores like Sears, Walmart, Chadwicks, JCPenney, Target, etc carry semi formal gowns that would be suitable.
