NYC Fashion Week #1: Bill Blass
Filed in archive News Of Note by Crystal Unrau on September 10, 2007

This past week was fashion week in New York City and many top name designers came out to showcase their 2008 Spring/Summer collections. While this isn't a bridal showcase, many of the designers this year had beautiful gowns in their collection worthy of our attention. Great gowns for bridesmaids, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, showers, honeymoons, and all those many occasions where you are going to want to look especially nice. In the next few days, I will be showcasing some of our favorites for you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
I have to say, from what I have seen so far, my favorite collection was from Bill Blass. His spring collection was full of fun, flirty and feminine gowns and they were a definite hit. There were even a few pieces which, while I am not sure if they ARE bridal gowns - they definitely look the part. His collection also included some beautiful tea length styles for a spring bridal party, or bridal shower.
Bill Blass is a design line started by William Ralph Blass in 1970. He was one of America's most international known designers in his time. Blass passed away in 2002 and his design line has been carried on by Peter Som and Michael Bastian.
