My Wedding Colors
Filed in archive Writer's Wedding on March 26, 2007
I thought I had settled on colors a while back - until we decided to have our ceremony on a beach, lol. You see - my birthstone is Pearl or Alexandrite(pink) and Dave's is peridot green. Those also happen to be my two favorite colors. once we decided to have the ceremony at the lodge, on a beach, I wasn't sure if that color scheme was going to work out so I have been looking around.
Here was my original inspiration:

I love that - but it seems a little to "formal, in a church" for a wedding on a beach, with a more natural, foresty type location. So far, I have found a few things that have given me some hope that this is doable - for example, I found photos from a real wedding that was done on a beach in pink and green. I also found a few ideas:
I LOVE this orchid - and I think this idea would work well. The accent peices make it a little more fun and would work with the surroundings a little better.

I like this centerpiece idea as well. Something like this, set in those birch bark holders I featured a few days ago? I think I would do more pink, with green accent. Okay - so basically the only thing the same would be the shape....

I also like the idea of using white with pink sea shells, though Dave thinks it is to much beach, not enough "forest". We did pick a lot of shells last time we were there though. This bouquet I found at Seaside Weddings By Sherry
