Friday Celebrity Wedding Update

This is my first blog post on my newest wedding blog, and the first post always seems to be the hardest. Do you start with an intro post or is that just silly? I mean really, an intro that will eventually get buried at the bottom of the archives seems pointless - and that is what the About Me section is for isn't it?

So, I am going to jump right on in. One feature I want to include on White Lace Weddings is a weekly Celebrity Wedding Update. Each Friday I will share the latest wedding news, gossip, and announcements from the celebrity world. So what is happening in celebrity weddings this week?



1. The beautiful Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives and her San Antonio Spur fiance Tony Parker have finally set a date. The couple will tie the knot on July 7 - 07/07/07 - which is said to be a lucky date to get married and is this years most popular wedding date as well! The wedding will reportedly take place in a castle in Northern Paris, and the bride will be wearing a Monique L'huillier when she walks down the aisle.

2. Nick Lachey (previously married to Jessica Simpson) and his fiance Vanessa Minnillo (MTV Presenter) have apparently asked friends and family to keep April available. Rumor is that the couple, who both love Baja, Mexico, will opt for a intimate wedding south of the border.

3. DJ Chris Evans paid £5,000 to buy a wedding dress from a jilted bride. The bride, who had sold her house to pay for her wedding, was dumped just weeks before the big day. Since everything was already paid for, she went ahead and had the wedding anyway - without a groom!!!

4. Elizabeth Hurley, who will be wearing a elaborate traditional pink Indian Sari - has set a dress code for her wedding that apparently is making waves. The bride has asked all her female guests to wear traditional pink saris and this has ex-spice girl Victoria Beckman quite upset. She has refused to wear the required outfit because she does not feel it would fit her style icon image. Did it ever occur to her that showing up at SOMEONE else's wedding out of dress code is a MUCH bigger fashion no-no then wearing a traditional outfit to an Indian wedding would ever be? I would think a true fashion icon should be able match any dress code fashionably!

5. Heath Ledger and Michelle Wright, who played a husband and wife in Brokeback Mountain - may have tied the knot in private. The couple, who have a 14 month old daughter together, have been rumored to have wed after Heath was seen around town wearing a ring on his wedding finger.
