Engagement Rings, Celeb Style

I was viewing this slideshow of Celebrity Engagement Rings and what struck me, even more than the GINORMOUS rocks, was how many of the rings are so traditional in shape (if not in size). They were just really beautiful. I know that many rich and famous people are so interested in doing what's new and trendy, so to see the typical round cut present in many of the settings just goes to show how tradition trumps trends, even for celebrities.

This isn't to say that I don't love something different in engagement rings at times. I like sapphires with diamonds or colored diamonds sometimes, too. But clearly, there's a reason the round solitaire has endured and been so popular for so long. Maybe it's because many of us are much more traditional at heart than we know.
