Edible Centerpieces

Centerpieces are often flowers or candles - but many brides are looking for new ideas. One option that is being seen more and more is the idea of an edible centerpiece. So, here are some random ideas for edible centerpieces. Enjoy.
1. The one shown here is a Chocolate Strawberry Bouquet centerpiece by Strawberry Dreams The neat thing with this one is that it doubles as wedding favors - but of course, it only works with certain Color Schemes
.2. Mini wedding cakes also make great centerpieces. This could be a stack of single size petite cakes, or a single layered version of your wedding cake. You can rent cake trays that hold a single cake raised off the table, and then accent it with silk rose petals or other decor under the platter. When it is time for dessert, guests can help themselves to a slice from their own table.
3. Combine candy and decor! One option would be to create centerpieces using various size clear glass containers in a grouping on each table. For example, you could have 3 tall containers in different heights - have candies in two of them, and a small bunch of flowers in the third.
4. Chocolate Roses - You can get roses made from chocolate, and group them into a "bouquet" for the center of each table.
5. I remember one idea I saw in a Martha Weddings Magazine for a harvest wedding - the setting was on rectangular tables and a collection of baskets in different sizes were placed along the center. Inside the baskets where apples, pears, grapes, etc. Another option would be to mix in some flowers in a few of the baskets as well.
