After a recent flurry of speculation, it appears that Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z got married in a private ceremony in New York this past Friday. I'm sure that after the Star magazine story about the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie wedding that never happened, sources were checked, rechecked and checked again before putting this story out.

Rumors started swirling when Beyonce and Jay-Z took out a marriage license earlier in the week. Knowing that the license was good for 60 days, celeb watchers upped the scrutiny to see when the couple would tie the knot.

Apparently, only good friends and family made up the guest list for the small penthouse ceremony.

I had a small, intimate wedding myself, but I certainly didn't have "50,000 orchids shipped from Thailand" as loft decor. Wow. Congrats to the happy couple!
