Jenna Bush Wedding Title: Jenna Bush Wedding

One of the most talked about impending weddings recently took place this past Saturday in Crawford, Texas. Jenna Bush, daughter of President George W. Bush, became Mrs. Henry Hager in a very private, sunset ceremony, that's been described as "lowkey".

Jenna wore a "simple and elegant" Oscar de la Renta gown fashioned in organza and detailed with embroidery and matte beading. In one of the photos I've seen of her wedding dress (link below), I have to say it's really beautiful. Very simple and understated and befitting of a ceremony that wasn't hounded by paparazzi.

By now, you'll no doubt find quite a few photos of the event, but from everything I've seen, the atmosphere seemed well-controlled and the private affair that the newlyweds wanted and deserved. Congratulations to the happy couple!

If you're looking into a traditional wedding-you know, without the skydiving, the underwater vows, or the Disney World locale-you're probably also looking for a traditional gown. Long skirt with accompanying veil, plus all the trimmings. These are just two of the gorgeous gowns offered by a Southern California bridal company, Enzoani. Visit the website and I promise you'll be blown away by some of the most beautiful couture-worthy gowns on the market.

Since wedding dresses can cost in the thousands of dollars nowadays, the company offers a specialty Blue by Enzoani line, where no gown retails for more than $1500.00. I think that's a bargain when you look at the types of dresses you can choose from. If you want a designer-style gown without paying designer prices, this is one company to consider.

Wedding Day Problems: Rain Title: Wedding Day Problems: Rain

You've been planning your outdoor wedding for months. You have the perfect garden locale, the decor fits into the scene perfectly, you've rehearsed and all that awaits is the day. You wake up on your wedding day morning and it's storming. What to do?

Of course, rain is only a major problem if you get married outdoors. While getting from the car/limo to the church and back again can be problematic during a downpour, if your wedding is indoors, at least you can say your vows and hold the ceremony inside, where everyone stays nice and dry.

What's important to not spoil an outdoor wedding is advance planning. When you set your date months in advance, you have no idea what the weather will bring when your big day finally rolls around. To avoid a wedding day catastrophe if you plan to get married in any outdoor venue, consider these tips:

* Have a tent waiting. You can rent one or borrow one from a friend or family member, but have it on hand just in case.
* Move it indoors. Everyone won't have this option, but if your wedding takes place in a backyard or anyplace where there's a nearby, accommodating indoor location, hopefully you can squeeze all your guests inside.
* Wait it out. I've been to plenty of weddings that didn't start on time. If the rain looks as if it might let up, see if you can't hold off for a while. This will depend on your officiant as well; he or she may have another appointment, so you need to keep that in mind.

I think the majority of outdoor weddings come off without a hitch, so don't worry in advance. More than likely, you'll wake up to lots of sunshine on your big day.

Wedding Night Lingerie Title: Wedding Night Lingerie

Brides often spend an extraordinary amount of time and energy on the wedding dress, but what about what comes after? You know, your wedding night lingerie? Typically, you'll receive lingerie at your bridal shower and it can range from demure and slightly innocent to downright racy. Hopefully, your friends and family know you well enough to get you a white satin baby doll if that's your style instead of a cupless corset.

Consider these points when choosing wedding night lingerie:

* You're going to be in your wedding gown for a long time. Whatever you wear underneath it has to be comfortable or you're going to be miserable.

* You don't have to sport your bridal night attire under your gown if you don't want to. Instead, you can freshen up after your wedding and reception before you and your groom begin your honeymoon. Relax in a hot bath, unwind from the festivities and then slip into your wedding night number. You'll feel much more refreshed than if you wear it all day long.

* Wedding night lingerie often means "honeymoon lingerie," so make sure you carry several different pieces along on your honeymoon, to keep things interesting.

File this one under "I didn't see that one coming." Reportedly, Mariah Carey has waltzed down the aisle for a second time, this time with actor/singer Nick Cannon, who is 11 years her junior. If you're thinking "I had no idea," you're not the only one.

So far, reps for both the bride and groom have been mum, but one of Cannon's relatives apparently confirmed that a Bahamas wedding had taken place.

Carey was married for several years to music exec Tommy Mottola, and Cannon has been romantically linked with singer Christina Milian as well as Kim Kardashian. While some are calling this a publicity stunt, I would think Ms. Carey doesn't exactly need a stunt right now, with her hit Touch My Body all over the airwaves as well as beating out Elvis Presley in number one singles.

If the news is true, we wish the newlyweds much success!

Don't Forget to Relax Title: Don't Forget to Relax

Planning a wedding can be incredibly stressful, especially if you don't use the services of a wedding planner. The bigger and more elaborate your ceremony, the more stress you tend to suffer from. Don't let all the minute details of planning your big day rob you of energy and drag you down.

You have to take breaks now and then to regain your sanity and peace. Whether you want to spend a day at the spa (with or without your attendants, best friend or close family members) or just dip into your favorite manicure shop for a quick touch-up is up to you. The point is to make sure you do it.

Figure in a monthly pedicure or biweekly manicure into your wedding budget. Or a massage or a haircut. Different brides-to-be have different ways of coping with stress, so if a 10-mile run is your way of winding down after calling all over town and not finding one bakery who can create the exact same cake Eva Longoria had at her wedding, then figure new sneakers into your budget.

Need spa ideas? Check out A Girl's Gotta Spa! for ways you can relax and regroup before wedding day jitters take their toll.
